The board safeguards the public from incompetent, unscrupulous and unauthorized persons and unprofessional conduct on the part of qualified speech-language pathologists and audiologists to assure the availability of the highest possible quality services to communicatively handicapped people in North Carolina. The commission has seven members, each serving a three-year term. The governor appoints all members. |
