Purpose The Soil and Water Conservation Commission adopts rules for the development and implementation of a soil and water conservation program. It also approves petitions for soil conservation districts and applications for watershed plans and adopts rules consistent with the provisions. The commission has seven members, all of which are appointed by the governor. Note: It is not a conflict of interest for a board member to receive an agriculture cost share grant from the Commission (see G.S. 139-4(e)).
