| Purpose | The Board of Nursing protects the public by regulating the practice of nursing in North Carolina. The Board issues, renews and reinstates nursing licenses for qualified RNs and LPNs and investigates complaints against licensees, taking appropriate actions when deemed necessary. The Board also approves and monitors nursing education programs leading to initial licensure throughout the state. |
