| Purpose | The commission works with the Department of Transportation and the Division of Motor Vehicles to maintain a statewide online organ donor website at www.donatelifenc.org. The site enables federally designated organ procurement organizations and eye banks to have timely access to the names of individuals who have stated to the DMV their intent to be an organ donor and have an organ donation symbol on their driver’s license or identification card. The commission has 15 members, each serving a two-year term. The governor appoints seven members. The Senate President Pro Tempore and the Speaker of the House each appoint four members. |
